Do not let your mind deceive you; the only thing you need to do is make it silent. However, achieving this state is not possible with a superficial and inattentive awareness. This is why cultivating discipline through conscious effort and a constant intention of self-observation is essential. The key to developing Presence lies not in passively accepting everything we hear but in practicing methodically and consistently.

The true "inquiry" is silence, which involves becoming actively passive. This state allows us to perceive all internal and external impressions without labeling or judging them with terms and concepts created by others over time. This practice of impartial and non-judgmental observation is the core of working on oneself.

We must not simply believe what we are told but experiment directly. Blind belief leads only to being influenced by new ideas without a solid foundation, whereas experimentation allows us to understand and verify the reality of our experiences. This experimental approach pushes us to "practice" as much as possible at all times, with the fervor of a thirsty man seeking water in the desert.

If we do not engage in practice and develop discernment, we risk being overwhelmed by illusions and falsehoods that fill our days. This discernment is essential to avoid being deceived by external influences and to maintain a sense of personal integrity. Without this constant practice and the ability to distinguish truth from illusion, we risk becoming lost and falling prey to daily distractions and manipulations.

Working on oneself requires a continuous commitment to silencing the mind through discipline, self-observation, and methodical practice. Only in this way can we develop true Presence, capable of resisting falsehoods and living authentically and consciously. Experimentation is the key to freeing oneself from unverified beliefs and finding a deep, personal understanding of reality.
